My next few posts will be devoted entirely to one of the greatest and rarest delicacies on earth: morel mushrooms. Laugh all you want for how dorky the concept of mushroom foraging is. Until you actually taste one, you’ll never understand. Yes, despite their abominable physique – they look like they’re the parasitic spawn from Halo known as The Flood – there’s a reason why they can be valued at $100 per pound.
Okay so how do you find these little morsels? Well, I’ll be composing a series of posts. Each of which will be a story centered on key concepts that will give you step by step advice for preparing, finding and harvesting them. If you put the effort in and follow my tips (noted below), you’ll go from a rookie to a seasoned veteran of the morel woods in no time.
